System Notifications for Agent, Sync, and Account Events ​

GrantFlow's notification system originally covered the access request lifecycle — approvals, activations, and expirations. With this release, the remaining event types now have full notification publishers, giving IT teams real-time visibility into infrastructure health without checking dashboards.

What's New ​

Five event types that previously existed as template placeholders now fire real notifications end-to-end:

  • Agent.Online / Agent.Offline — Know immediately when an on-premises agent connects or drops. The notification includes the agent's display name, computer name, associated connector, peer IP address, and last-seen timestamp.
  • DirSync.Completed / DirSync.Failed — Every directory synchronization run now reports its outcome — including sync type, the number of users and groups processed, and the error reason on failure.
  • Account.PasswordRollover — Automatic password rotation events are surfaced to administrators so credential lifecycle is always visible.

System Recipients ​

These events don't have a natural per-user recipient the way an approval request does. Instead, they are delivered to the system recipients list — a set of email addresses you configure once in Admin > Notification Configuration under the email channel settings. All system events route to these addresses automatically.

If no system recipients are configured, events are still recorded in the Delivery Log for audit purposes.

Richer Agent Context ​

Agent notifications now carry more detail than before. Templates can reference the agent's display name, computer name, connector association, and IP address — making alerts actionable without opening the GrantFlow portal.

Getting Started ​

If you already have the email notification channel configured, system events will start flowing as soon as you add at least one system recipient:

  1. Navigate to Admin > Notification Configuration
  2. Open the Email channel settings
  3. Add one or more addresses to the System Recipients field
  4. Save — new system events will be delivered immediately

You can customize any system event template from Admin > Notification Templates the same way you customize activation or approval templates.
